I created a series of brand films entirely in-house with zero production spend, combining strategy, scriptwriting, creative direction, video editing, and extensive use of AI — including AI-assisted visual development and video production. Unlike typical edtech films that rely on dense information or generic explainer formats, these films focused on emotional storytelling, strong narrative hooks, and a cinematic feel that stood out in the category.
Despite the lean setup, the films delivered strong results: view-through rates up to 40% above platform benchmarks, over millions of cumulative video views, and double-digit increases in engagement across key markets. Several films also contributed to spikes in course enrolments, demonstrating their impact beyond brand awareness. When run alongside performance marketing, they also contributed to a reduction in CPC and customer acquisition costs, and increase in branded search overtime, proving its impact in increasing brand awareness, consideration, and brand appeal. They also played a key role in driving 74% growth in YouTube subscribers, helping the channel cross 100K subscribers.
These films showed how resourceful, AI-enabled production and thoughtful narrative design can deliver high-impact creative without traditional budgets.
